One More Miracle

There was a time in my life where I thought my life was going to end before I hit 30. My culture and lifestyle had me drinking and using drugs at an early age. I was taken to Tijuana Mexico at the age of 13 to get me away from the gang activities in the city of Long Beach California. Tijuana brought a different environment and opportunities for illicit activities. I started smuggling people across the border at an early age of 15. After getting caught a few times with illegals at the border I moved up to smuggling marihuana. Somewhere between this and that I had created the liking for marihuana and cocaine the scariest rollercoaster in the world. Between the ups and downs of my addictions I had to deal with the Mexican cartels and elude the government on both sides of the border. All was good until the year 2001 when I was arrested at the San Ysidro border with 40 pounds of marihuana which was goin to get 6-12 months in a federal facility, I bailed out and came back across the border with 80 pounds to make up for my losses. I was then offered 7 years for both cases. To make a long Story short I was in and out of prison for the next 17 years and my addiction to crystal meth started somewhere in that time frame. That downhill spiral was the worst experience of my life since I lost everything I ever loved and cared for. My last stretch of jail time was January 2018 to October 2018 by a miracle of god I didn’t get the 5 year sentence I had coming. My father Passed away in the time I was incarcerated, my best friend, brother and father all gone in the same day and I couldn’t make it to the funeral. I came out of prison with a 5 year supervised release and here I am working on my addiction’s counselor certification and working in the field getting some experience on the treatment side of the addiction process. I’m goin to college at 46 and working in two rehabilitation homes giving my testimony and letting everyone know HOW AND WHY EVRYDAYMATTERS. The story of my life is very long and complicated, I have many pictures of a bone thin drug addict with a mouth full of stubs for teeth and all the battle scars that were left from my lifestyle. This is my personal email if you want to know the whole story (sinaloense631@gmail.com) God bless you all and Yes EVERYDAY MATTERS
